Draft NY NRM Plan > Consultation events

Consultation events

A series of workshops will be held with Environmental and Community groups and Farmers and Industry throughout the Northern and Yorke NRM region during October.

Each workshop will start at 7.00pm and close at 9.30pm. There will be introductions and overviews from workshop conveners and the Presiding Member of the NY NRM Board. An experienced facilitator will then conduct the workshops to ensure issues are addressed in a lively and effective way.

As part of this process, people attending the workshop will discuss the Plan and its relationship to particular natural resource assets e.g. water, biodiversity, marine etc.

The primary objectives of the workshops are as follows:

  • to provide an opportunity for community comment on the draft NRM Plan and effective input into the final Regional NRM Plan;
  • to build awareness of the NRM Board’s roles and objectives;
  • to promote the importance of integrated natural resource management; and
  • to encourage people to identify natural resource management challenges and opportunities, and to encourage them to become involved in appropriate and timely actions at the local level.
