Coast Protection Board – Small Grants Program

These funds are provided to community groups via the Department of Environment and Water Resources to carry out approved minor coast works.

Community Water Grants

For projects run by eligible individuals, rural organisations, schools, environmental or conservation groups and local governments which benefit the public by practically saving, treating or recycling water and promoting wise water use.

Dilmah Water Funding

Dilmah tea and Landcare Australia’s ‘Best Tea, Best Water’ Grants Program has grants for community groups and schools to improve local water quality by providing water quality testing kits and water quality testing training.

Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payment

Relief payments and interest rate subsidies are available from the State Government to eligible primary producers and small businesses in Exceptional Circumstances declared regions.
Where: EC declared regions include the Yorke Peninsula, Mid North, Upper North, Clare and parts of the Eyre Peninsula.

Green Vouchers for Schools

The Australian Government will provide up to $50,000 for every school to install solar hot water systems and a rainwater tank to improve energy and water efficiency.

Greening Australia SA Exchange Incentives Fund

Grants of up to $10,000 to help regional practitioners better manage their natural resources. Funds are available to regional groups and networks, and researchers, for events or activities to be carried out before 1 January 2008.

National Heritage Trust

The National Heritage Trust offers grants through the Australian Government Envirofund to provide the opportunity and means for community groups to undertake small on-ground projects tackling important local problems aiming to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable natural resource use.

Natural Resource Innovation Grants

Natural Resource Innovation Grants are awarded to people in farming, food, aquaculture and forest industries who contribute to sustainable production by developing or promoting the adoption of innovative practices, production techniques, technologies and products.These practices could be used to address issues such as reducing farm greenhouse gas emissions, crop production, water quality and efficient use and salinity.

Recreational Fishing Community Grants Program

This program supports local initiatives that enhance recreational fishing and tourism experiences, both through on-ground activities and education and awareness raising, as well as protecting near shore coastal environments. Itseeks to enhance sustainable resource use and fishing practices by recreational fishers; develop a sense of ownership, awareness and responsibility amongst recreational fishers for the sustainable use of fish resources and fish habitats; maintain or enhance fish habitats for present and future generations; and foster partnerships between governments, the recreational fishing community, and associated industries to conserve, restore and enhance the values of recreational fisheries throughout Australia.

Revive Wetlands for Schools

Threatened Species Network Community Grant

The Threatened Species Network is a partnership between WWF-Australia and the Australian Government. The grant supports community groups and other conservation partners to help stop the declining numbers of our native plants and animals, particularly those listed by Australia's state and federal governments as threatened.
