The Northern and Yorke NRM Board is guided by a series of plans which give direction to all its initiatives.
All of its present activities and programs are set out in the Northern and Yorke Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRM Plan), a strategic plan developed in October 2003.
The INRM Plan is supported by both an initial operational or business plan called the Initial NRM Plan and the Australian Government-funded section (NAP & NHT) is called the Investment Strategy.
For each of the past two years, the business component of the Initial NRM Plan has undergone an annual revision called the Initial NRM Plan Review.
Since the introduction of the Natural Resources Act 2004, the eight new regional NRM Boards in South Australia are developing innovative plans integrating the best management techniques and including a range of pre-existing strategies.
The development of the new Comprehensive NRM Plan will allow for a united vision, based on consultation and science. This will provide the best possible, commonly agreed direction for the management of our natural resources for the benefit of current and future generations.
In addition, the Board is also developing the Clare Water Allocation Plan to ensure sustainable management of regional water resources.
